Behavior

All students have the right to learn in a positive and safe environment.  It is important to me to have a consisten behavior plan that is communicated clearly to the parents and students.  For positive and appropriate school/classroom behavior students will receive praise, stickers, additional privileges, etc. as rewards for good behavior.

If a student chooses to break a rule:

  • 1st offense:  A verbal warning is given
  • 2nd offense:  Child moves his/her magnetic button from green to yellow
  • 3rd offense:  Child moves his/her magnetic button to red, and his/her action(s) will be documented on a discipline notice and submitted to the school office

All magnetic buttons begin on green each day, and if a child moves his/her button, it is re-set on green at the beginning of the next school day. This allows for a “fresh start” each day. Please remember, we all have “bad” days.  If a child has to move his or her button, it does not mean that the child is bad, but that he or she simply made poor choices.
