I am a graduate of Eureka College, where I received my BA in Elementary Education. I began teaching 6th grade right out of college in Leland, IL. The following year I took a 1st grade position here at Fulton Elementary. While teaching 1st grade I obtained by Master Degree in Reading through Western University. After three years in 1st grade, I made the switch to 3rd grade. Although I loved 3rd grade, a Title I position opened up in the district and I gracioulsy took the job! I taught Title I for nine years working with small groups and co-teaching reading in the classroom. In 2008, the district decided to adopt the Reading Recovery Program. I went through training for a year and will continue training annually as Reading Recovery is being administered.
