Quantatative and Qualitative Chemistry
This course is designed to provide experiences in working with chemistry laboratory equipment and problem-solving. Most of the solutions used are prepared by the students themselves. The course has a very strong emphasis on math applications in chemistry. Course content includes a review of chemistry, math, acid-base titrations, pH measurements, oxidation-reduction reactions, spectrophotometry, electrochemistry, and some qualitative analysis applications. A field trip to a local laboratory provides an opportunity to observe lab techniques at work in the business world.
