Organic Chemistry
This course deals with the chemistry of carbon containing compounds. These compounds are classified into various groups such as alkanes, alcohols, aromatics, ethers, acids, and ketones. The naming, preparation, reactivity, and properties of these groups provided the content of the course. There is a good deal of laboratory experience. An individualized project with formal laboratory report is required. Organic Chemistry is very helpful for those planning to enter health, chemistry, or biology occupations. It provides a good background for college level organic courses.
