Ms. Gates

Earth science is a one year course that will investigate the scientific concepts, rules and principles which are associated with planet Earth as well as other celestial bodies. The first semester focuses on the study of geology through understanding mapping, matter, rocks and minerals, soil changes, mass movements and surface and ground water.  Second semester emphasizes key concepts of plate tectonics, volcanism, earth quakes, and the atmosphere. Also during the second semester the class will take nine weeks to study meteorology and approximately nine weeks to study astronomy as well.
