About the LRC
The LRC at Fulton Elementary is staffed by three hardworking and caring individuals - Mrs. Medema, Mrs. Smith, and Miss Buikema. Together with all of our wonderful volunteers, over 120,000 items circulate annually from the FES LRC!!!
The Fulton Elementary School’s LRC has been called the “heart of our elementary school”. The LRC offers reading materials in many formats - books, magazines, audio, cd’s, video, and ebooks - but also offers students the opportunity to read, learn and grow as individuals or as a team member. While students and teachers have access to the over 21,000 items that are owned by the FES LRC, unlimited access through our membership with the Prairie Area Library System allows students and teachers to access thousands of additional materials. In addition to all the reading materials that students and teachers may wish to have, the LRC offers a variety of activities throughout the school year that involve every student and staff member.
Reminder to all Parents: You are welcome to come into the LRC during any regular school day to select books that you wish to use at home with your student(s). The LRC staff will be on hand to help you find or select the levels of reading materials that you need.
If you have questions about the LRC, or ideas on programs that you would like to share with us, please call and talk to Miss Buikema (815-589-2911 ext. 329) or email her at: nbuikema@roe55.k12.il.us
All special programs and events are paid for by LRC activity funds raised at our annual Book Fair. Thank you for your support!
