CLASS DESCRIPTION:
This is a yearlong course. Students should have completed Algebra I and Geometry to be prepared for this class. Topics to be studied include functions, matrices, systems, quadratic equations and polynomials.
CLASS REQUIREMENTS:
Materials to have daily are your own book, and all materials listed below under supplies.
1. Daily assignments will be given. Credit will be given according to the percentage grade on the following scale: A=10, B=10, C=9, D=8, F=7.
2. Quizzes and Tests will be given. Tests will be worth 100 points. Quiz values will vary. The semester exam will be worth 20% of the semester grade.
YOUR MATH NOTEBOOK:
1. Use a loose-leaf 3-ring notebook. Do not use a small one, you will run out of room.
2. Use dividers to separate your notebook into the following sections:
A. Forms
B. Daily Problems
C. Homework
D. Notes
E. Graphing Calculator
F. Other

MAKEUP WORK:
1. You are expected to find out your homework during advisory and have your work done for the next class. Enter my room quietly during advisory and get the assignment from the black basket on the ledge at the back of my room. Your name should be on your papers there.
2. Notes will normally be included with that makeup work.
3. If you need additional help, make an appointment to see me.
4. If you do not have the required makeup work done on time, the grade on it will be marked down to a lower grade. Your work is due when you come back if you missed one class.
SUPPLIES NEEDED:
Pencils, Marking Pens, Narrow-lined Loose-Leaf Paper, Dividers (6), 3-Ring Binder (Not a small One), Book cover, Graph Paper, Calculator (TI 83+ or TI 84), Ruler, Highlighter and Colored Pencils (All of these items should be with you daily. You may want to get a pencil case to keep in your notebook to hold all your materials.
