Grand March:
The grand march will be held in the west gym on Saturday, May 1, 2010. Students who intend to participate in this event will enter the north doors of the building between 4:45 and 5:10 p.m. The grand march will begin at 5:15 and parents and friends are invited to enter through the southwest door to view the introductions and take photographs.
Students participating in the grand march are asked to line up in the hallway behind the stage. An adult will be present to help organize students, please listen carefully to directions! Students will fill out a form with their names, which will then be handed to the announcer as each couple comes onto the stage to be presented. Students will walk behind the black curtains on the stage and will go through the decorated arch when introduced. Pause for a few seconds so that family and friends may take photographs. Each couple will then walk down the steps at the edge of the stage. Each gentleman should proceed down the steps first and assist the lady on the steps so that no accidents or falls occur! All couples should then proceed to the south wall of the gym and line up until all introductions have been made. Family and friends will then have an opportunity to take more photos of couples and larger groups. Except for chaperones, no parents or friends will be admitted to the Prom.
Meal:
Arrive at Buck’s Barn and go to the entrance in the back-the reception area! (No entrance through restaurant) between 6:15 and 6:45 p.m. A buffet dinner will be served beginning at 7:00 p.m. You must sign in with the chaperones seated at the door. Should you choose not to eat the buffet, you must arrive at Buck’s barn in Thomson between 7:45 and 8:00 p.m. (ticket prices are the same whether you eat there or elsewhere). Do not arrive before this time as other prom attendees will be finishing their meals.
***There will be a uniformed Police Officer on Duty that evening and breathalyzer tests will be administered***
Dance:
The dance will begin at 8:00 p.m. and will last until 11:00 p.m. Students may leave beginning at 10:30 p.m. If you need to leave before 10:30 p.m., prior permission is required. As Prom is a formal event, the chaperones and sponsors request that suggestive or inappropriate dancing does not take place at this dance. We want everyone to have a good time at Prom, but if this type of dancing occurs you will be asked to stop or sit down if it continues. There will be consequences for your actions. If your date is not enrolled in Fulton High School, you will be responsible for their actions as well. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. We want everyone attending Prom to feel comfortable on the dance floor.
Alcohol Free Prom:
Neither an FHS student nor the date of a student will be admitted to the Prom if he or she has been drinking alcohol. No alcohol will be sold at Buck’s Barn to an FHS student or the date of the student.
Photographs:
Professional photographs will be taken at Buck’s Barn. Please have the picture envelopes filled out with the correct money or check enclosed. Large groups who would like photographs should make every effort to be organized that evening with an envelope filled out and money collected prior to having the photograph taken. Please see Mrs. Goodenough or Mrs. Heyvaert if you have any questions about photographs.
Dates Who Do Not Attend FHS:
All prom attendees that are not students from FHS must fill out the required form with signatures and then have their date return it to Mrs. Goodenough no later than Friday, April 16, 2010
