Classroom Rules/Expectations
In my classroom I expect that all students are treated equally and fairly. If at any time you or your son or daughter are having problems, please feel free to get in touch with me so that I can help.
The classroom rules are as follows:
1. Listen carefully — do not talk while someone else is talking!
2. Raise your hand to talk and do not talk unless you are called upon!
3. Follow all directions as they are given to you!
4. Work quietly and do not disturb others around you!
5. Sharpen pencils in the morning before class starts, at recess time, at break time, or any time that I am not teaching!
6. Complete all assignments on time and turn them in on time to the appropriate tray!
7. NO Late work will be accepted — you MUST turn in the work when it is due. If I do not have the assignment by 8:30am then you will receive a zero!! If you know something is not completed then you better make sure that you speak to me and set up a time that day to get help to avoid getting a zero.
8. I will not allow talking during a test. If you are caught talking, you will receive a zero and your test will be ripped up and thrown away without the possibility of retaking it. I do this because if you are talking during a test I can only assume that you are cheating. Also, if you have already turned in your test and are caught talking, same rule applies while there are other students still testing.
9. If you turn in a paper without a name on it you will receive a zero for that assignment. You need to be responsible and proud of your work. PUT YOUR NAME ON EVERYTHING!!!
As far as discipline is concerned in the fifth grade, first there will be a warning and we will speak to the student about approrpiate choices. Next, there will be a loss of recess if the beahvior continues. Next, if the behavior still continues, there will be a phone call or a note sent home. Finally, if the beahvior still continues beyond all of that, the student will be sent to the office.
